Distinguished Professor of Chinese Literature and Former Head of the Department of Chinese, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Macao. He is also Associate Director of Centre of Chinese History and Culture in University of Macao, Chairman of the Association of Macao Literature and Art Critics, and Chair Professor of Sichuan Normal University.
He got PhD in 1993 in Nanjing University. He worked in
Nanjing University as a lecturer, associate and full professor from 1986-2004.
Then he became a distinguished professor in Jinan University. As a visiting
professor, he visited Department of Comparative Literature of Harvard
University, USA. He also worked as the visiting professor in Soonshil
University in Korea, Kyusu University in Japan, Foguang University in Taiwan. He
had been a Vice Chairman of Lu Xun Research Association in China and a Vice
Chairman of Research Association of Chinese Dramatic History and Theory.
He published an English monograph New Literature in Chinese: China and the World in Cambridge Scholars Publishing, UK, in which he put forward an academic conception: New Literature in Chinese. He also published English papers in the A&.HCI journals.
