This panel is organized for scholars who are interested in the stud
y of The Variation Theory of Comparative Literature. Professor Cao Shunqing has proposed the Variation Theory in his 2014 book
The Variation Theory of Comparative Literature, in which he has classified variation phenomenon in Comparative Literature into four types at different levels, namely, cross-national variation, interlingual variation, intercultural variation and cross-civilization variation. As an supplement and development of the theories of Comparative Literature, there is a wide range of discussions on this topic after the publication of professor Cao's work. Therefore, we'd like to invite scholars from all over the world to join this panel to discuss the Variation Theory's application, influence and development both in the past and future, which, we contend, can be an organic part for our discussions on this year's theme of ICLA.
